pkwy: “Come On Baby, Let’s Go”
pkwy are a deeply intimate band from Los Angeles who have just released their stunning debut single “Come On Baby, Let’s Go.” It’s a wonderful, chilled-out indie slow jam with subtle instrumentation and sweet, longing romantic lyricism.
The track maintains a flowing, downbeat pace throughout, but it does slowly build into its cathartic closing verse as two vocalists softly croon together, “Come on baby, let’s go/ I’m shaking my way to Los Angeles…” It’s an organic, minimal song reminiscent of Iron & Wine and early (Sandy) Alex G—the kind of thoughtful, personal indie rock favored in the art galleries and coffee shops of Silver Lake. It’s a promising sign of things to come for the brand new band. You can learn more about them HERE, and listen to “Come On Baby, Let’s Go” below via bandcamp.
I really love the new track from the guys. It’s really great to see them learn and grow as they produce music. It’s something I respect and cherish in an artist. I can see great things for these talented boys. Grammy’s in their sights? I think -yes!
