The legendary—and oft-shuttered—DIY concert venue The Che Café has gone through the wringer in recent years in its effort to re-open after UCSD’s pathetic attempts to shut it down. But now, after a “year long renovation slumber,” the space is finally back up and running with a full slate of shows.
To officially celebrate, the Collective is throwing a day-long mini-festival called Revenge Of The Che Café, featuring a dozen acts hip to the local DIY scene. Those include psychedelic surf punks and At The Barn favorites Deep Yogurt, who released their excellent debut album Busters last fall. Also on the bill are Imperial Beach indie rockers Chutes, hardcore upstarts Spirited Away, Oceanside lo-fi pop musician Miles Bandit, and Escondido garage rockers 4th N Cedar, among many others.
The show goes down from 3-10pm on Saturday, June 2. You can learn more about the event and purchase tickets HERE. And check out the full lineup poster below, as well as a few songs from some of the acts.
