LVL UP announce breakup, share final single “Orchard”

Earlier today, New York garage rockers LVL UP announced that they’re breaking up after their upcoming tour wraps in September. “We have decided to retire this project. It has been an extremely rewarding journey beyond anything we could have realistically imagined…”

LVL UP formed in the dorms of SUNY in 2011 and released their debut Space Brothers shortly after. Later, the band would release two excellent albums: 2014’s Hoodwink’d and 2016’s Return To Love. Their combination of fuzzy lo-fi guitar atmospherics and heart-on-your-sleeve lyrics made them a favorite in the DIY scene. You can read their full retirement note below:

They’ve also shared one last singe – a poignant and atmospheric ballad called “Orchard” – which you can listen to below. Also, they’re going on a final tour in the fall. You can check out those dates below, in addition to a few of highlights from LVL UP’s career. I’m not crying, you’re crying.
