Tomorrow night, dreamy New York electronica/synth-pop musicians Negative Gemini and George Clanton will play a show at Soda Bar along with local heroes Twin Ritual and Trip Advisor.
Brooklyn producer and singer Negative Gemini (born Lindsay French) combines ethereal synth soundscapes with her powerful, soothing vocals. So far in 2018, she has garnered rich acclaim for her recent EP Bad Baby – released in January – and especially for its lush new singles “Infin Path” and the anthemic self-titled track. The record really stands out thanks to its gorgeous lo-fi atmospherics and poignant, catchy songwriting. Last year’s breakout single “You Weren’t There Anymore” shimmers with heavenly synth textures and romantic yearning. Her performance is sure to be packed with searing new wave sensibilities and dream-like melancholy.
Also along for the ride is forward-thinking dance-pop musician George Clanton, who previously cut his teeth in the vaporwave genre under the monikers ESPRIT and Mirror Kisses. His recent work demonstrates a further descent into the realms of experimental pop. Recent single “Make It Forever” is loaded with sizzling electronica quirks and psychedelic dream-pop textures, and his emotive vocals evoke intense feelings of regret and romantic longing.
One of the show’s openers will be local electro indie-poppers Twin Ritual, who are still riding high after releasing their Hand Through The Mist EP back in February. Their blend of catchy hooks, fuzzed-out bass, and smooth vocals will surely put audiences in a visceral trance, so be sure to get there early to catch them! Also, opening the night’s festivities will be Trip Advisor, the stunning dream-pop project of Mystery Cave and Chill Pill member John Chrisopher Harris II.
Doors are at 8:30, and tickets are $10-12 available online HERE as well as at the door (unless sold-out). It’ll be a night filled with dreamy vibes and full hearts! Check out some of the acts below.
