George Clanton released one of our favorite albums of the year, the lush electronic pop tapestry Slide. One of the highlights is the moody, shimmering track “Dumb,” which now gets a stunning music video treatment courtesy of director Cory Nixon. The centerpiece of the video features Clanton singing in the back of a pickup truck spiraling up and down a parking garage. We then cut to a number of brooding shots – including Clanton shredding in a giant fountain, and then floating in a daze while flower petals fall around him. It’s crisply shot, well-edited, and it fully captures Clanton’s intoxicating charisma.
Furthermore, George Clanton will be returning to perform at the Ché Café early next year, this time with LA-by-way-of-San Diego indie pop band TV Girl. That show is on 2/9, and you can buy tickets HERE. Having seen Clanton twice this year – including at the Ché a couple months ago – I can say he’s one of the most dynamic live performers around. You won’t wanna miss it. In the meantime, watch the video for “Dumb” below.
